Project day
U školu smo ugostili goste različitih nacionalnosti koji su migrirali u naše krajeve tijekom povijesti, ponosno se nazivaju slavoncima, ali također nose u srcu ljubav prema kulturi i kraju iz koje su potjekli. Gosti su predstavili svoju kulturu kroz hranu. Bilo je u bošnjaka, mađara, slovenaca, ali i hrane iz različitih dijelova Lijepe naše, Zagorja, Dalmacije i Like. Učenici škole, obilazili su stolove, kušali razne delicije koje su pripremili gosti, razgovarali s gostima o razlozima dolaska u Slavoniju, te prikupljali recpte hrane koju su donijeli.

Book club
Ovu školsku godinu započeli smo filmom, a nastavljamo knjigom. Učenici su izabrali i pročitali knjigu "Djevojčica iz Afganistana" kanadske spisateljice Deborah Ellis. Zajedno sa knjižničarkom, okupili su se u knjižnicim na čaju i keksima uz razgovor o knjizi. Djevojčica iz knjige zove se Parvana. Ona je jedanaestogodišnja djevojčica koja s obitelji živi u ratnom
Kabulu u jednoj prostoriji. Vrlo je hrabra jer, nakon očeva odlaska u
zatvor, pristaje prerušiti se u dječaka i obavljati poslove i
prehranjivati obitelj. Radila je i ružne poslove koje nijedno dijete ne
bi trebalo raditi. Prestala je ići u školu jer su talibani zabranili
ženama da izlaze iz kuće. Brine se za obitelj iako nije uvijek bila s
njima u dobrom odnosu, a posebice sa sestrom koja joj se uvijek na ružan
način obraćala.

Together with the librarian, they gathered in a library with tea and cookies they talk about the book. The girl from the book is called Parvan. She is an eleven-year-old girl who lives with her family in a Kabul War in one room. She is very brave because, after her fathers go to jail, she agrees to dress up in boys and do jobs and feed her family. She also worked ugly jobs that no child should do. She stopped going to school because the Taliban banned women from leaving the house. She was worried about the family, though she was not always in good standing with her, especially her sister who was always in a bad way.

Projektni sastanak u Španjolskoj
Tjedan dana prije
referenduma za neovisnost, od 24. do 30. rujna, u Kataloniji, ravnateljica škole Marina Markić, te učiteljice Mirna Katičić i Mirela Klarić sudjelovale su
na projektnom sastanku i aktivnostima učenja, podučavanja i osposobljavanja. Domaćin im je bila Escola Pia Igualada, škola smještena u
gradu u blizini Barcelone – Igualadi. Tijekom pet dana slušale su predavanja o
migrantima, sudjelovale u radionicama posvećenima toj problematici, gledale i
analizirale ogledne sate, razmjenjivale znanja i iskustva s kolegama iz
Rumunjske, Turske, Italije, Austrije, Njemačke, Švedske i Španjolske, a u
slobodno su vrijeme obišle obližnje turističke destinacije Barcelonu, Sitges i
Montserrat. Prvi su se dan upoznale s osobitostima škole domaćina, španjolskim
školskim sustavom i razmijenile iskustva aktivnosti predviđene za rujan kada su
sve škole partneri gledale film s tematikom migracija. Drugi su dan, između
ostalog, sudjelovale na predavanju i
diskusiji o izbjegličkim kampovima. Sara Camps govorila je o svojem iskustvu
volontiranja u izbjegličkom kampu na otoku Lezbosu u Grčkoj. Njeno je izlaganje
predstavnicama vinkovačke škole bilo izuzetno ganutljivo jer je u njemu
predstavila migrante kroz njihove osobne priče i tragedije, ono što su izgubili
u životu odlaskom iz domovine i neizvjesnost koja ih čeka.
Radujemo se sljedećem susretu sa svojim kolegama, ovaj puta u
mjestu Cenakkale u Turskoj.
Project meeting in Spain
The week before the independence referendum, September 24 to 30, in Catalonia, the hdmistress of the school Marina Markić, and teachers Mirna Katičić and Mirela Klaric participated in a project meeting and learning activities, teaching and training activities. Their host was Escola Pia Igualada, a school located in the city near Barcelona - Igualada. During the five days they attended lectures on migrants, participated in workshops devoted to this issue, watched and analyzed sample hours, exchanged knowledge and experience with colleagues from Romania, Turkey, Italy, Austria, Germany, Sweden and Spain and visited the nearby tourist destinations Barcelona, Sitges and Montserrat. The first day they met the specialties of the host school, the Spanish school system, and exchanged experiences of activities scheduled for September when all partner schools watched a film about migration. The other day, among other things, they participated in the lecture and discussion on refugee camps. Sara Camps spoke of her experience of volunteering at a refugee camp on the island of Lezbos in Greece. Her presentation to the Vinkovci School representatives was extremely lenient because she introduced migrants through their personal stories and tragedies, what they lost in their life by leaving the homeland and the uncertainty that awaited them.
Movie night - "The Kite Runner"
Ljeto je završilo i još je jedna školska godina započela. Odmorni i željni novih informacija i aktivnosti spremni smo i na drugu projektnu godinu. Ove godine čekaju nas puno zanimljivih aktivnosti, projektnih dana, razmjena aktivnosti, odlazak na mobilnosti, a sve smo započeli opušteno, uz film i kokice.
Naša prva aktivnost bila je gledanje filma migrantske tematike. Odlučili smo se za film "Gonič zmajeva". To je Oskarom nagrađena drama nastala prema istoimenoj noveli američkog pisca afganistanskih korijena, Khaleda Hosseinia.Priča je to o dvojci dječaka koji su doživjeli nekoliko prevrata u svojoj zemlji, kojih nisu niti bili svjesni, od pada monarhije, preko ruske okupacije do početka talibanske tiranije. Kako su vremena postajala sve opasnija, tako se i dječacima događaju sve neugodnije stvari sve do kulminacije, kada Amir ne pomaže prijatelju Hasanu u situaciji koju može donijeti samo vihor rata, u kojem ljudi gube svoju ljudskost i pretvaraju se u čudovišta. Nakon bijega u Ameriku, usprkos dobrom životu koji tamo vodi i ljubavi s lijepom Sorayom, Amira muči grižnja savjesti, do te razine da se mora vratiti u rodni Afganistan, kako bi ispravio nepravdu koju je nanio prijatelju.
Prije gledanja filma, kao i za svaku filmsku projekciju, učenici su izrađivali plakate kojima su najavili gledanje filma.
Nakon gledanja, napisali su osvrt na film u kojem su izrazili svoje stavove prema filmu i tematici. Učenici su bili pozitivno dirnuti filmom, izrazili su žaljenje za svu djecu koja su u ratnom području, te su rekli da sada drugačije gledaju na ljude koji moraju pobjeći od svojih domova jer su im živoi ugroženi.

Our first activity in he beginning of the new school year was watching the film on migrant theme. We decided for the movie "The Kite Runner". It is an Oscar-winning drama based on the novel by the American writer of Afghan roots, Khaleda Hosseinia. It is a story of two boys who have experienced several overcrowding in their own country they were not aware of since the fall of the monarchy over Russian occupation until the beginning of the Taliban tyranny. As time becomes more and more dangerous, even more annoying things are happening to the boys until the culmination, when Amir does not help a friend Hasan in a situation that can only lead to a wrath of war, in which people lose their humanity and turn into monsters. After escaping to America, in spite of the good life he carries with love with the beautiful Soraya, Amira is tormented by conscience, to the point that he has to return to native Afghanistan to correct the injustice committed by his friend.
Before watching the movie, as well as for any movie projection, the students made posters announcing their movie watching.
After watching, they wrote a review of the film in which they expressed their views on film and theme. The students were positively touched by the film, they expressed regret for all children in the war zone, and said that they now look differently at people who have to escape from their homes because they are alive threatened.
